Spring sessions of Story Times and Parent Toddler Workshops begin the week of March 5th. Please call the library for registration information.

Text Version Read-To-Me reading charts are available in the Children's Room. Complete the chart by reading 20 books and we will reward you with a special prize.

Families Who Read Aloud Read A Lot!
Enjoy a children's novel with your school-age child by reading aloud, one chapter at a time! Please pick-up book suggestions and an Official Read Aloud Contract in the Children's Room. We will reward your listener with a bright "Bank on Books" bank!

Read to Mudge!
Mudge, a real live therapy dog, will be in the library to listen to you read out loud! Call 929-4488 to make an appointment to read to this loveable animal!

Enjoy a family interactive hour of singing, dancing a craft and much more! Pre-registration required.

Fast Food of Ancient Egypt (Grades 3 - 5)
Friday, March 16 at 4:30 PM
We will discuss the amazing culture and history of Ancient Egypt and a typical ancient Egyptian recipe will be prepared and shared by all. All participants will go home with a good luck charm that they created. Pre-registration required.

Bunnies, Bunnies, Bunnies! (Grades 1 - 3)
Friday, March 30 at 4:30 PM
Create a bunny craft, listen to a bunny story and hold a real bunny! Pre-registration required.

Weekend Parent Toddler Workshop
Saturday, March 17 at 10:15 AM
For toddlers ages 18 -36 months with a parent/caregiver. You may call to register for this session, scheduled to meet the needs of working parents.

Babysteps
Wednesday, March 21 at 10:15 AM
Parents and infants 6 - 18 months will enjoy a chance to play and meet new friends. Pre-registration required.

Here is your chance to let everyone in New York State to know what your favorite book is! Students in grades 3 to 6 (ages 8 to 12 years) are encouraged to submit one nomination during the month of March. Nomination forms and additional information is available in the Children's Room.



NSPL loves Babies!
To welcome our youngest patrons (newborns) we have developed "Born To Read" packets. Each packet includes information on infant development and early literacy as well as a free gift for your newbaby. Available in the Children's Room.

Toys To Spend The Night
Are you expecting a young overnight visitor? Look through our "Toys to Spend the Night" collection, a variety of puzzles, board games and building toys for children ages 3 years and older. For more information, please speak to a children's librarian.

Calling All Young Artists!
If you would like to have your artwork displayed in the library please have your name added to our "Young Artist of the Month" List!

"Helping Your Child Become a Reader" The booklet was prepared by the US Department of Education and includes activities for children from infancy through age 6.

"Let's Do Homework!" Includes homework tips and a checklist for helping your child with homework assignments.

"Minimizing Morning Madness" An info-sheet with advice on how to maximize your child's readiness for each school day.
